Meet Santa Kirby, the Candy Cane Santa

Ho, Ho, Ho! I’m Santa Kirby, also known as The Candy Cane Santa, spreading cheer from Fort Worth to Dallas and the surrounding areas. Whenever Mrs. Claus can join me, she does—and together we bring smiles, laughter, and a touch of Christmas magic wherever we go.

Throughout the year, I love handing out candy canes to anyone who asks, “Are you Santa?” That’s when I let out a hearty “Ho Ho Ho!” and share a smile—or a keepsake card with Santa’s photo on one side and a handwritten message from Mrs. Claus on the back that says, “Santa saw you being good.” It’s my way of reminding both kids and adults that even Santa enjoys a little vacation now and then… and that I’m always listening to what kind of toys children are dreaming about for Christmas!

I primarily portray Santa for corporate events, but I also enjoy fundraisers, home visits, parades, and storytelling appearances. Anytime there’s a stage, I’m ready to bring Santa to life! Over the years, I’ve had the honor of appearing for major companies and events, including the Dallas Mavericks, AT&T, USAA, Sony, Cotton Bowl Association, Sundance Square, Crescent Hotel, and even a wedding at the historic Adolphus Hotel. I’ve also appeared at tree lightings, pet photo sessions, HOA gatherings, and in studios—just about anywhere people want a touch of Christmas joy. (The only thing I don’t do much anymore is mall work—I’ve filled in before, but that chair sitting isn’t for me!)

This marks my fifth year as Santa, and I can honestly say I can’t imagine stopping now. Long before I began portraying Santa, people told me I’d make a great one—and they were right! My dad was an interior designer who decorated department store windows in downtown Fort Worth, and I’ll never forget the years he dressed up as Santa at home for us kids. We always knew it was him—but those moments planted a seed that’s grown into my life’s calling.
